From Donna-Marie Pye's "300 Slow Cooker Favourites". Your kids will love this soup, because it tastes like really good pizza. But I've found that its simple and delicious flavours are equally popular with adults.

Recipe Ingredients for I'd-Swear-It-Was-Pizza Soup

1 large onion, chopped
1 cup sliced mushrooms
796 ml Italian-style stewed tomatoes, with juices
1 cup beef stock
250 g thinly sliced pepperoni
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup croutons
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Recipe Directions for I'd-Swear-It-Was-Pizza Soup

  1. In slow cooker stoneware, combine onion, mushrooms, tomatoes and stock; stir to mix well.

  2. Cover and cook on Low for 5 to 6 hours or on High for 3 to 4 hours. Add pepperoni and green pepper during last 30 minutes of cooking.

  3. Divide croutons equally between individual bowls. Spoon soup over croutons and top each with grated mozzarella cheese.
