Recipe Ingredients for Ian's Porkbutt Soup

48 oz Pork, Fresh, Shoulder, Whole
20 cup (8 fl oz) Water
6 large (3" to 4-1/4" dia.) Potatoes, Boiled
8 carrot (7-1/2") Carrots
8 stalks Celery

Recipe Directions for Ian's Porkbutt Soup

  1. Fill 8 quart soup pot with 5 quarts water.

  2. Slice 3 pounds of boneless pork butt into bite-sized chunks and add to pot.

  3. Peel and quarter potatoes and add to pot.

  4. Wash and scrub carrots, cut up, and add to pot.

  5. Wash and cut up celery and add to pot.

  6. Add ground black pepper to taste and a bay leaf.

  7. Bring pot to a boil, then let simmer until potatoes are cooked.
