This lecsó uses bell peppers in place of the traditional Hungarian sweet yellow peppers, which can be difficult to find. The small amount of sugar added will compensate for the missing sweetness in the peppers.

Recipe Ingredients for Hungarian-Americn Lecsó

1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion
1 tsp salt
4 bell peppers (red or green)
5 medium tomatoes
2 tbsp paprika
1 tsp sugar

  5. Serve as side dish, or add smoked sausage, egg, or cooked meat for a main course.
