Hummus Recipe

Quite a simple recipe that tastes more than half decent. :)

Recipe Ingredients for Hummus

2 1/2 cups chickpeas, boiled without salt (or 1 cup chickpeas and 6 cups water)
1/5 cup tahini
1 clove garlic
1 tsp salt
30 ml lemon juice
70 ml cold water

Recipe Directions for Hummus

  1. If you haven't got pre-prepared chickpeas: 1. Soak the 1 cup of dried chickpeas in 3 cups of water over night. 2. Drain and wash the soaked chickpeas. 3. Boil the chickpeas in the other 3 cups of water for 1 and a half to 2 hours until tender.

  2. Put the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, salt and lemon juice into a blender or food processor.

  3. Process on high for about 3 minutes, adding water as necessary.

  4. Spread it over a plate and chill if you like, then serve!
