Recipe Ingredients for Hummus

2 cups garbanzo beans
3 garlic cloves, peeled
3 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup tahini
1/3 cup plain yogurt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp chopped cilantro

Recipe Directions for Hummus

  1. rinse and drain garbanzo beans (chick peas)

  2. peel and chop garlic

  3. put all ingredients (except cilantro) together in food processor and blend on medium high until creamy smooth.

  4. Add cilantro and stir in

  5. Spoon into container and chill 2 or 3 hours.

  6. Keeps up to a week.

  7. NOTE: I offen (rarely) have yogurt in the house, so I use mayonnaise, which probably adds to the calories, but keeps it fresh longer.
