Makes 40 servings



Hummus made from dried chickpeas and yoghurt. Very tasty. A serving size is 1 tablespoon. Serve with pita bread or vegetable cruddites or use as a spread.

Recipe Ingredients for Hummus - low fat

200 grams dried chickpeas
2 cups nonfat plain yogurt
3 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp water
1/2 tsp ground red pepper
1/2 tsp ground cumin
3 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Hummus - low fat

  1. Soak chickpeas overnight in water.

  2. Drain chickpeas then bring to the boil in fresh water.

  3. Simmer for 30 minutes then drain.

  4. Cool chickpeas then blend all ingredients in a processor.

  5. Refrigerate until serving. Keeps up to 4 days in the refrigerator.
