This is the basic recipe for hummus. Add-ins are typically vegetables, spices, and herbs. Here are a few suggestions and have fun creating your own. -roasted red peppers -basil pesto -cucumbers and dill -replace lime for lemon juice, cliantro, radishes -just loads of garlic

Recipe Ingredients for Hummus - Lorie's Basic

14 ounce chick peas
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup tahini

Recipe Directions for Hummus - Lorie's Basic

  1. Throw everything into a food processor (blender will work too)and blend until nice consistancy for dip.

  2. I like to reserve the liquid from can of beans to add in here if dip needs to be thinned a bit. Water also works.

  3. Serve with pita chips, raw veggies or your favorite cracker.
