This recipe is original from south-America, mainly from Argentina, Peru and Chile. The more fresh are the ingredients, especially the corn (hopefully not from a can), the better it will taste. It also gives it a bit more flavour to add some sugar on top before eating. *Here in Chile we eat with tomatoes and chili.

Recipe Ingredients for Humita

1 large onion
5 cups corn, yellow
1 cup milk
1 tbsp butter or olive oil
2 tbsp margarine
1 tbsp basil

Recipe Directions for Humita

  1. Thinly chop the corn and add the cup of milk.

  2. In a pan stir-fry the onion in the butter and margarine.

  3. Add the basil thinly chopped

  4. Once the onion is soft add the mixture of corn.

  5. *The original recipe is adding it to the corn leaves and wrapping them in it.

  6. Then boiled them in water
