Recipe Ingredients for Huckle/Blackberry Crisp

2 cups walnuts (raw, organic)
1/2 cup dry shredded coconut
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup raisins
8 dates ( pitted medjool)
2 1/2 cups blackberries (pint)
1 1/2 cups huckleberries or blueberries
6 dates, pitted medjool (soaked)
1 tbls lemon juice

Recipe Directions for Huckle/Blackberry Crisp

  1. Place walnuts, coconut, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a food processor fitted with the "s" blade and process until coarsely ground. Add the raisins and dates and process until it resembles coarse crumbs and begins to stick together. Set to the side.

  2. Place 1 1/2 cups of blackberries and 1/2 cup huckleberries or bluerberries in food processor along with dates and lemon juice. Process until smooth. Add remaining berries and pulse two times.

  3. Press 1/2+ of crumble into bottom of 8" square glass baking dish. Spoon berry mixture on top, spreading evenly with a spatula. Kneed remaining crumble until they stick together. Lay pieces of crumble on top to form a cobbled appearance, allowing some of the filling to peek through. Serve at room temperature or warm by heating oven to 200 degrees F, then turn oven off, place dish in warm oven for 15 minutes.
