Recipe Ingredients for Hot Cross Buns

350 grams (Odlums) Cream Plain Flour
100 grams (Tesco) Wholemeal flour plain
15 grams Yeast
150 mL (Arla) Lactofree half fat milk
1 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
1 tsp Nutmeg, Ground
50 grams SPLENDA No Calorie
75 grams Currants
50 grams BENECOL Light Spread
1 medium Egg, Whole

Recipe Directions for Hot Cross Buns

  1. Take half of each flour, blend well and make a whole in the centre.

  2. Blend yeast with splenda and a little warm water, leave to froth for 5mins.

  3. Add the rest of the water (150ml in total) to the flour and leave covered for 45 min.

  4. Mix the rest of the flour with the spices, sald and a little more splenda and the currants.

  5. Add this and the benecol and the egg to the risen dough and leave for 1 hour.

  6. Pour dough mix into a bun pan.

  7. Into oven at 200 degrees for 15min.
