Recipe Ingredients for hot cross buns

2 cup all purpose flour
2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup 1% milk
1 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp yeast
1/2 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for hot cross buns

  1. Add the HOT water and milk to the bread machine bowl. Put in the sugar, salt, oil, flour, cinnamon, yeast. Add the raisins when the bread machine beeps.

  2. After the 2 hour dough cycle, put on a floured board and knead gently for a minute, and cut out 8 buns - I just use a knife and shape into a round. Put on a greased pan, touching each other. Let rise again for an hour in a warm place and bake at 350 for 20 min.

  3. (I marked a cross in the middle before baking - press deeply with a knife)

  4. Add a simple icing (icing sugar, tbsp marg/butter, boiling water).
