Horchata, traditional Spanish rice milk drink.

Recipe Ingredients for Horchata

2 cup, whole Almonds
6 cup Rice, White, Long-grain, Regular, Cooked
1 tbsp Cinnamon, Ground
1.5 cup Sugars, Granulated
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
10 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Horchata

  1. Grind 2 cups uncooked rice until fine. Grind 2 cups almonds until fine.

  2. Soak the ground rice and almonds along with 2 inches of cinnamin bark or 1 tbs. ground cinnamin in 7 cups water overnight.

  3. Blend this mixture until smooth.

  4. Strain out any remaining particles and blend these further, recombining afterwards.

  5. Add 1.5 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 3 cups water.

  6. Serve cold, over ice.
