Recipe Ingredients for HONEY WHOLE WHEAT BREAD

1 cup 1% MILK
1/2 cup HONEY
2 tbsp BUTTER
1 tsp YEAST
1 tsp SALT
1 EGG
2 1/2 cups ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
3 cups WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR

Recipe Directions for HONEY WHOLE WHEAT BREAD

  1. MIX MILK, HONEY, BUTTER TOGETHER IN SMALL SAUCEPAN, HEAT UNTIL BUTTER MELSTS AND REACHES 105*-115*

  2. MIX SALT AND FLOURS TOGETHER. BEAT EGG AND ADD TO FLOUR WITH THE LIQUID. BLEND TILL SMOOTH, DUMP OUT ON FLOURED SURFACE AND KNEAD UNTIL STIFF, AND ELASTIC.

  3. LET RISE 1 HOUR, SPLIT INTO 2 LOAVES, PLACE IN GREASED LOAF PANS, LET RISE ANOTHER HOUR.

  4. BAKE AT 375 FOR 10 MINUTES THEN AT 350 FOR 30-35.

  5. FOR AREALLY CRUSTY TOP, BRUSH WITH EGG WHITE.
