Honey Wheat Bread Recipe

Bread machine bread so soft and good. I used molasses and not honey because I had none on hand. I also used blue bonnet light margarine. Recipe calls for butter have also substituted Crisco. Have used graham rye flour for a substitute for both flours this made a firmer hardy bread that was also very tasty.

Recipe Ingredients for Honey wheat bread

1 1/8 cups water
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tbs. dry milk
2 tbs. molasses
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbs. Margarine
2 tsp. yeast
3 tbs. quick oats

Recipe Directions for Honey wheat bread

  1. Assemble ingredients on the counter.

  2. Be sure to add all the ingredients to your bread machine in the following order: water. all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, dry milk, molasses, salt, margarine, yeast.

  3. Start your bread machine or set the timer for a later start.

  4. It's o.k. to look inside your machine to see how the dough looks.

  5. My machine beeps after the initial mixing to allow for adding nuts, fruits or other grains, this is when I add 2 TBS. of quick oats. Then I wait for it to stop mixing and begin to rise and add the last TBS. of quick oats sprinkled on top.

  6. Remove the bread from the baking pan as soon as it is done so it doesn't get soggy let it cool on a wire rack. Or eat while warm.

  7. Yummy!
