Recipe Ingredients for Honey & Spice Pound Cake

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 eggs
3/4 cup sour cream
1/3 cup icing sugar, to dust
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger

Recipe Directions for Honey & Spice Pound Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 325F.

  2. Butter and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.

  3. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

  4. Beat the butter, sugar, honey, and vanilla in a large bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed until pale and creamy.

  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until just blended after each addition.

  6. With mixer at low speed, gradually beat in the dry ingredients, alternating with the sour cream.

  7. Spoon half the batter into the prepared pan.

  8. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and ginger in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the batter in the pan. Spoon the remaining batter over the top.

  9. Bake for 7-80 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the centere comes out clean.

  10. Run a knife around the edges of the pan to loosen the cake. Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes. Turn out onto a rack and let cool completely.

  11. Dust with the icing sugar.
