A delicious cross between a honey bun and a coffee cake.

Recipe Ingredients for Honey Bun Cake

1 package+18.50+oz yellow cake mix
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
2 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Honey Bun Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350*.

  2. Mix yellow cake mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, and eggs together until smooth.

  3. Pour batter into sprayed and dusted 9x13 inch glass dish and drizzle honey on top.

  4. In separate bowl mix together brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top of drizzled honey.

  5. Optional: sprinkle pecans on top.

  6. Marbleize.

  7. Bake at 350* for 38-40 minutes.

  8. While cake is baking, mix together powdered sugar, milk and vanilla for glaze.

  9. Allow cake to cool before drizzling glaze on top and serving warm.

  10. (Note: I have used a rice flour yellow cake mix in place of the regular yellow cake mix and the result is just as tasty. I also found that for my family a half-cup of pecans is simply too many, so we use about a quarter-cup instead.)
