From everyday dish. These cookies turned huge but I didn't know they would be this much calories. The real recipe makes 9-12 cookies. Note: All-purpose flour or spelt flour produces a more classic cookie taste and texture, but you can use whole- wheat pastry flour and still get a delicious cookie. For wheat- free version use spelt flour but add an extra 2-4 tablespoons of spelt flour to the dry mix (amount needed varies with bran of spelt flour and whether you are using refined spelt flour versus a less processed flour). Note: If, as you are mixing together your batter is a bit floury and thick simply mix together a couple of teaspoons more canola and maple syrup and add it to the batter. Humidity, type of flour used, and other factors affect the density of the batter and so a touch more liquid may be needed.

Recipe Ingredients for Honestyle Chocolate Chip cookies

1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup honey or blackstrap molasses
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup canola oil
1/3 cup chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Honestyle Chocolate Chip cookies

  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees

  2. In a bowl, sift in flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add the sugar and salt stirring until well combined

  3. In a seperate bowl, combine maple syrup with honey/ molasses and vanilla. Stir in oil until well combined.

  4. Add wet mixture to dry along with chocolate chips and stir through until well combined (don't over mix).

  5. Place large spoon fulls of batter on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and flatten a little.

  6. Bake for 11 minutes until just golden (any longer will dry them out).

  7. Let cool on the sheet for no more than 1 minute (to prevent drying) then transfer to cooling rack.
