Makes 4 servings



This hot breakfast is from the GI diet clinic and keeps you very satisfied. Vary the flavour by topping it with fresh fruit such as berries, or chopped apple. Makes 4 servings.

Recipe Ingredients for Homey Oatmeal

2 cups skim milk
1 1/2 cups water
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/3 cups old fashioned oats
1/4 cup chopped almonds
1 tbsp splenda

Recipe Directions for Homey Oatmeal

  1. In a large pot, bring milk, water, cinnamon and salt to a boil.

  2. Stir in oats and wheat germ and return to a boil reduce heat to low, and cook. Stirring for about 8 minutes or until thickened.

  3. Stir in Almonds and splenda.
