Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Tortilla Chips

3 1/2 cups corn flour
7 tbsp vegetable oil
2 1/4 cups water
1 tbsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for Homemade Tortilla Chips

  1. Combine corn flour, vegetable oil and water to create your dough. Add water until it meets the consistency of playdough, kneading the dough.

  2. Let rest under a towel for 15 minutes

  3. Roll the dough into balls, approximately 1 - 2 inches across

  4. Using a rolling pin, flatten the balls into round tortilla shapes and place into a flat frying pan on medium-high heat. Do not use any oil in this process. Cook for 2 minutes on each side and flip. As the tortilla bubbles, push down on it with a flipper.

  5. Allow to cool and then cut the tortilla into chip / triangle shapes. Lightly brush with olive oil and cook on a baking sheet in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes at 450 degrees.
