needs less butter or margarine, less salt and more pepper, try with olive oil instead

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade tomato soup

6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 medium yellow onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
24 ounces canned tomatoes
3 cups chicken stock
2 salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe Directions for Homemade tomato soup

  1. saute onions in butter till soft,

  2. add the garlic, add pepper, and salt.

  3. next add tomatoes and chick stock,

  4. break up tomatoes with spoon a little bit, bring to boil and reduce heat, let simmer 20 mins

  5. use an immersion blender or regular blender to puree until desired consitency
