Recipe Ingredients for Homemade tomato sauce

1588 g crushed tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1 large onion
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp Crushed Garlic
1/2 tbsp oregano
1/2 tbsp basil
1/2 tbsp thyme
1/4 tbsp rosemary
1 tsp,+crumbled bay leaf
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
3 tbsp red wine

Recipe Directions for Homemade tomato sauce

  1. saute onions, garlic and herbs in a pan with .5tbsp olive oil

  2. add other vegetables as desired

  3. put in 2 large cans of crushed tomatoes

  4. bring to boil then simmer

  5. once cooked down a bit add the tomato paste

  6. stir well and continue cooking (low/med heat)

  7. add 2 splashes of red wine and simmer

  8. add salt and pepper to taste
