Homemade Rice-a-Roni Recipe

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Rice-a-roni

1 c. brown rice
1 T. butter
2 c. water
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 t. dried parsley flakes
1/2 t. garlic powder
1 salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Homemade Rice-a-roni

  1. 1. Melt butter in pan and saute the rice until lightly browned.

  2. 2. Add the water, bouillon, parsley and garlic. Add any other seasonings if you wish.

  3. 3. Bring to a boil and cover. Then reduce heat to low. Cook 15 minutes without lifting lid.

  4. 4. After 15 minutes, check to see if all liquid has been absorbed and fluff rice with a fork. If the rice is tender but it is still a little wet, just sit on low heat with the lid off for a few more minutes.
