Low sodium pasta sauce, alternative to jarred sauce

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Red Sauce

2 cup tomatoes, fresh, diced
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 teaspoons garlic, minced
4 tablespoons tomato paste, no salt added
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
10 grams brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon basil, dried
1/4 onion, fresh, chopped
1/4 sweet red pepper, chopped

Recipe Directions for Homemade Red Sauce

  1. Saute garlic in olive oil.

  2. Add tomatoes and red pepper flakes.

  3. Cook off some of the tomato juice.

  4. Add tomato paste, wine, water, basil and brown sugar,

  5. Simmer 5 minutes.

  6. Add fresh onion and peppers.

  7. Cook until desired thickness.
