Homemade Pizza Recipe

Makes 4 servings



Made the pizza crust from scratch. No pepperonis added. (This is made using a bread maker with a dough maker setting.) This recipe makes a 2lb. dough. For lower calories use low-fat cheese.

Recipe Ingredients for homemade pizza

3/4 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 3/8 cups water
3 tbls olive oil or vegetable oil
1 cup (8oz) prepared pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for homemade pizza

  1. Combine first 5 ingredients into bread pan.

  2. Select Dough setting.

  3. When dough is done remove from machine.

  4. Place dough on lightly floured surface.

  5. Knead by hand 2 to 3 times to remove air pockets.

  6. Shape the dough to the pizza pan.

  7. Cover dough with a clean cloth and let rise until almost doubled in size (about an hour).

  8. Preheat oven to 400 degree F.

  9. Spread pizza sauce over dough.

  10. Sprinkle toppings over sauce.

  11. Bake 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
