Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Pizza

1/4 oz. active dry yeast
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. sugar
4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
14 oz. whole tomatoes
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 c. olive oil
1 T. olive oil
12 oz. shredded mozzarella

Recipe Directions for Homemade Pizza

  1. Make dough by putting yeast in 1/2 C. warm water (90-105 degrees) with sugar. Let sit 5 minutes. Add flour, salt, and mix until soft dough forms. Add more flour as needed. Knead dough. Put in oiled bowl, oil top surface and cover with saran wrap. Refrigerate over night or up to 3 days.

  2. Transfer dough to a floured surface. Punch down an ddivide into 4 pieces. Form each into a ball, and oil. Transfer to baking sheet and cover lightly with saran wrap. Let rise for one hour.

  3. Prepare topping in food processor, (tomatoes, oregano, 1 T. olive oil, salt and pepper to taste). Streach each ball to 13 inch round. Add tomato sauce to each, and any other toppings desired. Bake about 8 minutes in 500 degree oven (prepare pizza stone in advance if using a pizza stone).
