Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Lowfat Yogurt

4 cups whole milk
4 cups water
3/4 cup nonfat dry milk
1 1/3 cup nonfat dry milk
1/2 cup lowfat plain yogurt

Recipe Directions for Homemade Lowfat Yogurt

In a blender mix the water and nonfat milk powders until well blended. Pour the mixture and the whole milk into a crock pot. Set on low for 2 1/2 hours. Turn the crock pot off and let it sit for 3 hours. Remove a cup of the warmed milk from the crock pot and gently stir in 1/2 cup of plain yogurt that contains live active cultures. Pour this milk yogurt mixture back into the crock pot. Wrap a thick towel around the crock pot and place in a warmed oven ( an oven with the light on). Leave it there for 8 hours. Remove and gently scoop yogurt into a non reactive container and chill.
