Homemade Lasagna (Large Size, 12 Servings)

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Lasagna

1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
750 g pasta sauce
596 g stewed tomatoes
1 tomato, sliced
1000 g 1% cottage cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
500 g pasta

Recipe Directions for Homemade Lasagna

  1. Boil 15 lasagna noodles for 12 minutes, until tender. Layer 5 noodles in bottom of lasagna pan. Set remaining noodles aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  3. Cook beef and onion over medium-high heat in large frying pan. Drain fat and add pasta sauce and stewed tomatoes. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. In bowl, stir together cottage and mozzarella cheese with parsley.

  5. Alternate layers of meat sauce and cheese mixture in between noodle layers. Top with cheese mixture and sliced tomatoes. Cover pan with foil.

  6. Bake in centre of oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake additional 20 minutes or until cheese is browned. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
