Recipe Directions for Homemade Hungarian Goulash

Cut the meat and the potatoes into dices, put potatoes aside in a bowl of water. Cut carrots and turnips to 2-3 cm pieces (halve them, if they are too thick). On the oil, fry the meat for a few minutes, add salt, pepper and paprika. Add vegetables, excluding potatoes. Let them cook for some time, until almost all the liquid is gone. Pour in water. Cook on medium heat for 30 minutes, then add the potatoes, and cook for another 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are ready.
