Beef should be either home cooked or canned with no artificial flavors or colors. You can get it that way from butcher shops or specialty stores. Tomato juice in this recipe was home-canned into pints by removing the skins, crushing and pressing tomatoes through a sieve, and then processing them into pints. You can buy something similar but beware of artificial flavors and salt that may have been added. Everything else was purchased at the grocery or in bulk food stores except the onions and potatoes which I grew myself with no pesticides chemicals added. Enjoy!

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Healthy Beef Vegetable Soup

14 1/2 oz beef, cooked
1 can beef broth
1 pint tomato juice, fresh, cooked, puree
2 small potatoes
1 medium onion
1 stalk celery
1 cup water
1/8 tsp salt
2 tsp thyme, crushed, dried
2 tsp basil, crushed, dried
1 dash of garlic powder

Add everything into a stew pot and simmer on medium until the potatoes are soft (about 15 minutes).
