This is an excellent whole grain breakfast.

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Granola

4 cups oats
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup ground flaxseed
1 cup bran flakes
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 cup dried cranberries

Recipe Directions for Homemade Granola

  1. Mix the oats, wheat germ, ground flaxseed, bran flakes, cinnamon, and coconut in a bowl.

  2. Heat honey and oil on medium until it bubbles. Pour over dry ingredients and toss to coat.

  3. Bake at 300 degrees for 60 minutes (could be less depending on your oven), mixing every ten minutes.

  4. Remove from oven and stir in dried cranberries or whatever dried fruit you prefer.
