basic granola recipe that can be personalized with a favorite type of nut, dried fruit, etc. serving = 1/4 cup

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Granola

765 grams oats
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup almonds, sliced
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Homemade Granola

  1. mix first five ingredients in a large bowl.

  2. heat the next four ingredients together on a low temperature in a saucepan.

  3. when those ingredients have melted together in the saucepan, stir in the vanilla.

  4. pour over the granola mixture in the bowl and stir.

  5. spread the mixture over one or two large cookie sheets and bake at a low temperature (200 degrees) for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. after an hour in the oven the mixture should be turned over with a spatula. after it has cooled, add raisins, craisins, or other dried fruit if you like.
