Makes 7 cups (28 1/4 cup servings) 30-60 min.

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Granola

4 cup oats
1 c sliced almonds
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup raisins, or dried cranberries

Recipe Directions for Homemade Granola

  1. Preheat oven to 300F.

  2. In a bowl mix oats, almonds, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. In a sauce pan warm oil and honey. Whisk in vanilla.

  3. Pour liquid over oat mixture. Stir with wooden spoon; finish mixing by hand. Spread granola in 15x10 in. baking pan.

  4. Bake 40 min, stirring every 10 min. Allow granola to cool completely before adding raisins or cranberries. Store at room temp. for 1 week or 3 months in the freezer.

  5. Option: add almond extract to liquid.
