Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Granola Bars

2 cup dry Old Fashioned Quaker Oats
1 cup Almonds Sliced Natural
16 tbsp Coconut Angel Flake Sweetened
8 tablespoon Kretschmer Wheat Germ, Regular
3 serving Sunflower Kernels Dry Roasted
3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
10 tbsp(21 g) Pure US Grade A Clover Honey
8 tsp Domino Light Brown Sugar
1.5 tsp Vanilla Extract
0.75 cup Dried Cranberries
12 serving Toll House semi sweet chocolate chips (mini)

Recipe Directions for Homemade Granola Bars

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and line with parchment paper.

  2. Toss the oatmeal, almonds, and coconut together on a sheet pan and bake for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned. Transfer the mixture to a large mixing bowl and stir in the toasted wheat germ and sunflower seeds.

  3. Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees.

  4. Place butter, honey, brown sugar, and vanilla in a small saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat. Cook and stir for a minute, then pour over the toasted oatmeal mixture. Add the cranberries and stir well.

  5. Let the mixture cool for about 5-10 minutes and then stir in the chocolate chips.

  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Wet your fingers and lightly press the mixture evenly into the pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until light golden brown. Cool for at least 2 hours before cutting into rectangles or squares. Serve at room temperature.
