Homemade Granola Bars Recipe

Killer bars everyone that tries them wants more.

Recipe Ingredients for homemade granola bars

2 1/4 cups oatmeal
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup shredded coconut
3 tablespoons butter
2/3 cups honey
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup dried apricots
1/2 cup rasins
1/2 cup dried mixed fruit

Recipe Directions for homemade granola bars

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. butter 8 X 12 line with parchment paper.

  3. Place oatmeal, coconut, almonds together on a sheet pan for 10 to 12 minutes stir occasionally.

  4. Reduce oven to 300 degrees.

  5. Place butter, honey, brown sugar, vanilla in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over med heat. Cook and stir for a minute, then pour over the toasted mixture, add furit and stir well.

  6. Pour mixture into pan. Wet your fingers and lighly press the mixture evenly into the pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden borwn. Cool for at least 2 to 3 hours before cutting into squares. Serve at room temp. I put each bar into a waxpaper sandwich bag.
