YUMMY, soft homemade granola bars - everyone wants one!

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Granola Bars

3/4 cup white corn syrup
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter
2 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 tbls vanilla
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 1/2 cups raisins
1 cup chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Homemade Granola Bars

  1. In a large pan, heat brown sugar and half of the white corn syrup to boiling. Boil for 1 minute.

  2. Immediately add remaining corn syrup and stir together. Add peanut butter and stir till blended and smooth.

  3. Add vanilla and stir; add oatmeal, sunflower seeds and raisins and mix till thoroughly blended.

  4. Press into 7x11 pan; spread chocolate chips over, and fold dough together to encase the choc. chips inside. Press again into pan and allow to cool completely. Cut in half lenghth of pan; then cut into 1 inch widths for long, skinny bars.

  5. Place bars in individual snack baggies to easily grab for on-the-go meals/snacks.

  6. These will stay soft and chewy for a long time!
