Experimenting with a basic cracker recipe. These turned out very hard but very tasty. Can experiment with the flour substitutes. The quinoa is actually quinoa flakes.

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Grain Free Crackers

1/2 cup quinoa
1/2 cup arrowroot flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon basil

Recipe Directions for Homemade Grain Free Crackers

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Mix together flour, salt, oil and seasonings. Use a pastry blender or food processor. Add 3 tablespoons water and mix well. Gradually add more water til mixture forms a compact ball. Roll the dough to 1/8 inch thickness on parchment paper or baking sheet dusted with flour. Bake 10 to 15 minutes til slighly brown.

  3. Cool and break into pieces.

  4. Any finely ground grain or grain substitute can be used in this recipe.

  5. Can use any type of oil.
