Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Flour Tortillas

3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
3 1/2 oz Crisco shortening
1 cup boiling water

Recipe Directions for Homemade Flour Tortillas

  1. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder.

  2. Add Crisco Shortening

  3. Add boiling water

  4. mix and knead dough for 3 minutes

  5. Cover w/ a clean cloth for 15 minutes.

  6. Knead for 1 minute

  7. Make 1.5 oz portions, roll into ball.

  8. Roll out tortillas with rolling pin.

  9. Cook on very hot griddle.
