Flor tortillas, makes ten small/medium sized

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Flour Tortillas

2 cups flour
1 tbsp Canola Oil
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup hot water
1 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Homemade Flour Tortillas

  1. put the dry ingredients in a bowl. add the oil to the hot water in a cup, then very gradually stir the liquid into the dry ingredient,.s a little at a time.

  2. mix until you have a good consistency, then knead it into a ball.

  3. set ball back inbto bowl, cover with damp/wet paper towel and let rest for 20 minutes.

  4. take ball and didie into ten little balls, knead them until nicely blended.

  5. put little balls on flat plate, cover with damp towel and let rest for ten minutes

  6. pre-heat skillet, drop litle oil and then wipe it out of skillet. get the surface like you do for pancakes.

  7. roll out a tortilla, plop it into pan, turn when bubble form and lightly browned (usually one minute or less).

  8. lightly brown other side, then take out, mist wid water, and onward.

  9. main thing with the tortillas is to just BARELY get them cooked...too much and they are too dry
