http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Best-Marinara-Sauce-Yet/Detail.aspx?strb=1 Original Recipe from Allrecipes.com. I substituted water + lemon juicefor white wine (Don't have any on hand.) and using raw tomato instead of canned. This is my way of reducing sodium intake. :) If you don't like garlic as much, please reduce the amount the garlic by at least half. It had a grade of B+, but I don't know what happened to it. Lol

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Easy Marinara

1 Tomato
1/4 can tomato paste, 6oz
1 tablespoon parsley, fresh or dried
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoon onion, finely diced
2 tablespoon water, or white wine
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Recipe Directions for Homemade Easy Marinara

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat saute the finely chopped onion in olive oil for 2 minutes.

  2. If you like a smoother sauce, place Italian tomatoes, tomato paste, chopped parsley, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a food processor. Blend until smooth.

  3. Otherwise just place them into the skillet.

  4. Also, add the lemon juice and water in the skillet.

  5. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
