Clam Chowder basically from Better Homes & Gardens cook book.

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Clam Chowder

4 oz. slices bacon
8 medium potatos
1 medium onion
30 oz canned baby clams
6 c. skim milk
2 T. flour
1 t. ground thyme
1 c. water
1 t. chicken boullion

Recipe Directions for Homemade Clam Chowder

  1. Peel boil & drain potatoes

  2. Fry bacon in large pot until crisp, reserving 1 T. grease

  3. brown onion

  4. Drain cans of clams, reserving juice

  5. add water to clam juice to make 1 cup

  6. Add boullion, onion, flour, milk, and thyme to clam juice

  7. Heat until just boiling and add potatos

  8. Mush about half of the potatos against the side of pot with a fork

  9. salt and pepper to taste
