This is my very Americanized version. It isn't spicy.

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Chicken Tikka Masala

0.5 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
3 clove Garlic
2 tsp Paprika
0.25 tsp Ginger, Ground
0.75 tsp Curry Powder
0.5 tsp Cumin
6 tsp packed Sugars, Brown
0.25 tsp Cinnamon, Ground

3 tbsp Tomato Paste
1 cup, fluid (yields 2 cups whipped) Cream, Fluid, Heavy Whipping
10 oz Shelled Edamame
8 oz Mushrooms
4 breast, bone and skin removed Chicken, Breast, Meat Only
2 1tsp Olive Oil

Recipe Directions for Homemade Chicken Tikka Masala

  1. Saute onion and garlic. Add spices, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and cream, and reduce for a while.

  2. Add edamame.

  3. Saute mushrooms separately.

  4. Broil chicken, cut into bite-size chunks, and stir into the warm sauce.
