Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Chicken and Rice Soup

1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
3 clove Garlic
1 medium Carrots
3 stalk, small (5" long) Celery
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
1 cup Rice, White, Long-grain, Regular, Cooked
1 can (5 oz) Chicken
2 cup Soup, Chicken Broth

Recipe Directions for Homemade Chicken and Rice Soup

  1. chop garlic and onion

  2. saute in 1 T oil

  3. add chopped celery and carrot

  4. use spices to your taste (I used all-purpose herbs, white pepper, tumeric, and coriander)

  5. at same time, cook rice in chicken broth in a separate pan

  6. add can of chicken to the cooked vegetables

  7. add chicken broth and simmer

  8. when rice is done add it to the soup

  9. adjust seasoning to taste
