Recipe Ingredients for homemade chicken and noodles

3 eggs
3 cups flour
1/4 cup 2% milk
5 pounds whole chicken
2 cups carrots
1 cup diced celery
3 quarts water
1 stick margarine

Recipe Directions for homemade chicken and noodles

  1. mix 3 cups flour with the 3 eggs and 1/4 cup milk

  2. add 2 pinch salt. After a stiff consistency but still mosit enough put the dough into 3 parts. Roll each on a good flour surface until very thin.Let set to dry 2-4 hours while thats drying prepare the chicken.

  3. I leave my whole cleaned and put in a big stock pot.

  4. add 3 quarts water (may need more later) cook till chicken starts fall off bone. Take out chicken and bones and strain the broth add celery and carrots to broth and bring stock to a rolling boil.Add chicken.

  5. While waiting for the broth to come to a boil start rolling up the parts of noodle dough and then cut into the size noodles you want. As soon as broth is at a rolling boil drop noodles in slowly till all are in. Depending on thickness and size I cook mine for 30-45 minutes. This is a very very good recipe my family just loves this as a homemade soup.
