Homemade Style Beef Stew. Very Hearty & Filling. Great for Lunch or Dinner!

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Beef Stew

1 tablespoon oil
3 cloves garlic
1 medium onion
1 potato
2 cups carrot
2 stalks celery
2 cups frozen broccoli
1 1/2 lbs stewing beef
16 oz gravy
32 oz beef stock
3 oz tomato paste
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper

Recipe Directions for Homemade Beef Stew

  1. In a medium-large soup pot coat the bottom of the pot with oil.

  2. Over Medium heat add garlic and onion, and heat through until onion just starts to become transparent

  3. Add potato, carrot, celery and cook for 3-5 minutes

  4. *Add Stewing beef, cook 2 minutes. Do not cook all the way through.

  5. Add beef stock, and bring up to a boil.

  6. Once soup is boiling bring the temp down to a low setting.

  7. Add beef gravy and tomato paste & broccoli

  8. Simmer for approx 2 hours (the longer the better) and stir occassionally.

  9. Add salt & pepper to taste

  10. *I add sea salt & cracked black pepper to my soup when I put the vegtables & meat in the pot. But use/do what suites you best.
