My first attempt at apple sauce, intended to be more of a reduced glaze than sauce, will try again next time

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Apple sauce

2 medium Apples
2 cups Apple juice
3 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Almond extract
1/2 tbsp Ground cinnamon
1/4 cup corn starch
1/4 cup powdered sugar

Recipe Directions for Homemade Apple sauce

  1. In a medium sauce pan heat lemon juice and 2 cups of apple juice at a med-low temperature.

  2. While warming, slice up apples thinly and place in juices

  3. Add vanilla, almond, and cinnamon spices and allow to simmer for 30 mins to soften apples and cook in flavors. stirring occasionally

  4. Add powdered sugar and stir in thoroughly.

  5. In a small bowl stir together remaining apple juice and starch until smooth, then add to simmering mixture.

  6. Sauce should thicken up quickly, stir until well mixed and then remove from heat and either serve warm, or place in storage container to serve chilled.
