Recipe Ingredients for Home Prepared Pickled Beets

4 c. beets, sliced
1/2 dash sea salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. rice vinegar
1/4 tsp. allspice

Recipe Directions for Home Prepared Pickled Beets

  1. Peel, quarter and slice beets (about 5-6 medium beets).

  2. Place sliced beets into a 2 qt pot; cover with water. Add a dash of salt, 1/4 tsp. allspice or clove and vinegar. Bring to a boil, then turn heat to simmer.

  3. Simmer for 30 minutes. Then let cool. Serve warm or cold. Refridgerate; keeps 2 weeks.
