Easy, fix-it and forget-it spaghetti sauce. Can be made the night before.

Recipe Ingredients for Home-made Meat Sauce

12 oz tomatoes, crushed
12 oz tomato sauce
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 tbsp garlic, minced
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup mushroom, sliced
1 tsp oregano, dried
1 tsp parsley, dried
1 tsp basil, dried
1 1/4 lbs lean ground beef, 5% fat
1 salt
1 pepper

Recipe Directions for Home-made Meat Sauce

  1. In large pot sautee/brown: ground beef, onion, olive oil, garlic, and spices. Once meat if fully cooked, add mushrooms, crushed tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Salt & pepper to taste. Simmer until desired thickness is achieved.

  2. NOTE: Sauce can be made 1 day in advance. Sauce thickens a great deal with some time in the refrigerator.
