Recipe Ingredients for Home made Lentil Soup

2 medium Carrots
2 medium raw Leeks
1 medium raw Onion Yellow
50 grams Ready to Serve Bacon
700 grams Lentils, Mature Seeds
30 grams Homestyle Stock

Recipe Directions for Home made Lentil Soup

  1. Dice bacon and onions

  2. Let the bacon cook in the pot for a minute or two to draw out the fat

  3. Add onions and brown slightly

  4. Slice leeks and carrots and add to the pot to cook for a bit

  5. Add the lentils plus water and bring to a simmer

  6. Add a bay leaf, two cloves, a bit thyme.

  7. Cook for 45 min to soften vegetables

  8. Use a beef cube to dissolve in 500ml water or use 500ml beef stock

  9. Add and stir well

  10. Serve with vinegar and sugar
