Recipe Ingredients for home made lasagne

1 onion
225 g tomato
40 g celery
2 garlic cloves
500 g beef, minced
2 tsp dried basil
2 tbsp tomato puree
150 ml red wine
150 ml beef stock
40 g pasta, lasagne sheets
40 g butter
40 g plain flour
300 ml semi skimmed milk
75 g cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for home made lasagne

  1. pre heat oven to 200 deg. peel and chop onion. remove skin from tomato and chop. chop celery and garlic.

  2. fry mince, onion, celery and garlic until browned stir in tomato, basil seasoning, tomato puree, wine and stock. bring to boil and simmer for 30 mins.

  3. place a layer of mixture into base of dish, cover with lasagne sheets, add remaining mixture and cover with lasagne sheets.

  4. melt butter in pan, add the flour and cook for 2 mins. remove from heat and gradually add milk stirring all the time. return to heat and continue stirring until thickened. add most of the cheese reserving some to sprinkle on top.

  5. pour sauce onto the lasagne and sprinkle over the remaining cheese.

  6. cook for 20 mins until golden and bubbling
