This is an individual miners special from Cornwall in England to the miners of northern WI

Recipe Ingredients for Home Made Individual Pasty

4 oz Lean Ground Beef
3 oz Potatoes
2 oz of Carrots
1 oz of Onion
3/4 cups of flour
3/8 tsp of salt
1/4 cup of Crisco
3 tbs of cold water

Recipe Directions for Home Made Individual Pasty

  1. Separate 4 oz of ground beef

  2. Dice potatoes, carrots and onion

  3. mix ground beef, potatoes, carrots and onion in bowl with salt and pepper and a pinch of sugar

  4. Prepare 8" crust as follows

  5. Cut Crisco into flour and add water a little at a time.

  6. Refrigerate overnight and then roll out the next day

  7. Cut crust into 8" round - use pie plate

  8. Insert ingredients, fold over and seal

  9. Bake at 400 degree oven for 40 minutes

  10. Cool on baking rake and wrap for freezing.
